Now that fall is upon us, we have a lot to look forward to like fall festivals, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Fall is also an important time for us here at Premier Dental Care because October is National Dental Hygiene month! For the seventh straight year, the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) and the Wrigley Oral Healthcare Program (WOHP) bring us National Dental Hygiene Month (NDHM). All month long, we are celebrating the hard work our dental hygienists do to educate patients about the importance of good oral health and doing the Daily 4.
At Premier Dental Care, we are so fortunate to have two exceptional dental hygienists; Sarah and Ann. Our goal for each and every one of our patients is a beautiful, healthy smile. We know that taking proper care of your teeth and practicing good oral hygiene at home can help you maintain your optimal dental health, as well as prevent tartar build-up and periodontal or gum disease from developing.
It is always well advised to see Dr. Bakhtyari and one of our dental hygienists at Premier Dental Care in Herndon, for cleanings and oral examinations twice yearly. Your dental cleanings are performed by our hygienists, and will include the removal of calculus (plaque and tartar build-up) above and below the gum line. Our hygienist will also perform a polishing to remove stains and plaque on the teeth.
Your personal oral care starts at home by eating regular, balanced meals (low in sugar, high in fiber) and learning to correctly use your toothbrush and floss for maximum results.
So What is the Daily 4?
- Brush Twice A Day
- Floss Daily
- Chew Sugar Free Gum
- Rinse with Mouthwash
