While options are great, most people get overwhelmed walking down the oral care aisle at the store. So what can help you navigate through all the different product choices and help get you to the product you actually need?
1.Do Your Research First
Nowadays, with the power of the internet, it’s wise to do your research first. Understand what your needs are and what products are available that meet your needs. Read all about the benefits and claims. Read through the consumer reviews online and compare and contrast the products against each other. If you’re still feeling confused and overwhelmed our team is always happy to help answer any questions you may have.
2. Look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance
Another important sign that can help you sift through which products to trust and which to leave on the shelf is to look out for the ADA Seal of Acceptance.
So What is the ADA Seal of Acceptance?
According to the ADA, the ADA Seal of Acceptance has been designed so that consumers like you can make informed decisions and dental professionals like Dr. Bakhtyari and his team can make informed recommendations about the safety and efficacy of oral care consumer products. Accepted products will display a Seal Statement on the product label and in advertising. The Seal Statement tells the consumer why the ADA accepted that particular product. While the program is strictly voluntary, today, more than 300 dental products sold to consumers carry the ADA Seal of Acceptance. These include toothpaste, dental floss, manual and electric toothbrushes and mouth rinse with participating companies committing a considerable amount of resources to test and market products in the Seal program.
So, the next time you want to go shop for your next toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth rinse or floss do your research, look for the ADA Seal of Acceptance and don’t be shy about asking our team at Premier Dental Care. We’re always happy to help and give our best recommendation to you.
